Did you know that the same powers mentioned in Ezekiel 38 are the same powers that had a part in the brutal planned 7 October 2023 attack on Israel that literally stunned the world? We realize that Ezekiel 38/39 Prophecy is yet to come …a coming invasion of Israel, in the Middle East and involves NOT one Nation BUT several Nations: “The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord God says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal. I (God) will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army - your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops - the many nations with you.” – Ezekiel 38:1-6.” Now look at this; “horses and horsemen” of Revelation 6 and compare colours of the Islamic flags at the end of this article!

Let’s examine further together…

It is a unique Prophecy because of the Nations involved unlike Psalm 83 where most of the Nations border Israel! In Ezekiel 38/39 NONE of the Nations border Israel! This makes it unique as they all are separated. And because most of these Nations mentioned are separated by great distances and some even over 1,000 miles or approx. 1,600 kilometres away from Israel. And so, this would make it less likely “to invade” Israel …or work together against Israel as they are distanced far apart!  Many have said years ago that it was “impossible” simply because of the distances for a co-ordinated military attack to happen against Israel. However, it is that very thing could only make this Prophecy possible NOW - in these End-times or Last Days!  In Ancient times it would be very hard to pull this off …BUT in our Modern World today Nations can be separated and joined together in a war NO matter where they are situated! This is more likely true for our day than at any other time!

When we read Ezekiel 36/37, we understand clearly that the Jewish people had been scattered to the ends of the earth for their unbelief …but God always keeps His Promise and Covenants to His people …and today Israel is back in their land – “the dry bones” resurrected on; 14 May 1948 AND Israel today has “an exceedingly strong ARMY!” That’s NOW and in the future God says that He WILL pour out His Spirit upon them (the Jews) and that is a Prophecy coming …you see, it wasn’t for way back then BUT for now and what is to come! It WILL happen! Yes, it could NOT have been fulfilled in ancient times …BUT is only for our generation – NOW!

The Bible speaks of a FINAL WAR… Zechariah 12:2-3; “Behold, I (God) will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling (drunkenness) unto ALL the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day, I (God) WILL make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for ALL people: ALL that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though ALL the people of the earth be gathered together against it. This is the FINAL war and clearly today we can see how ALL the Nations WILL come against Israel! We see this coming together just as clearly as we are witnessing the hatred of God’s people (the JEWS) with antisemitism rising at an alarming rate. We live in a world that focuses on Israel and this Scripture ties in with; Joel 3:3-4 “For behold, in those days and at that time, When I (God) bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather ALL nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My (God) people, My heritage Israel, Whom they (the Nations) have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My (God’s) land.”

The coming war of Armageddon will be the FINAL war against Almighty God; ^“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.”- Revelation 16:13-14. Here we see the same thing ALL Nations coming against Israel …and the God of Israel Yahweh! Who will institute this war? The Antichrist, False Prophet and the kings of the earth (Leaders) ALL join this war to annihilate Israel!

Now let’s look again at Ezekiel 38/39, it does NOT say ALL Nations BUT mentions; “SOME” Nations! There are almost 200 Nations in the world right now …however we see here that Ezekiel mentions a specific group only. The FINAL war is going to be centred on Jerusalem, and it is all building up as - “the dots are connecting!” We can see it coming BUT this will be when they (the Nations of the world) come “…to pillage and occupy” …coming together on a great battlefield with the hope to destroy Israel!

BUT the good news is that after the FINAL war comes in the Tribulation …and in the midst of that war the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) comes to save Israel in the second half of the 7-Years. As true Bible Judea-Christian believers we will NOT be here as we will have been Raptured (Harpazo)! The battle against Israel WILL happen on the plains of (Har Megiddo) Armageddon.

Now let’s look if we can identify EACH of the Nations by their ancient names given to us by the Prophet Ezekiel …and then identity them in our modern world today. And know without any question; “This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.’” – Ezekiel 38:3. Some translations may say Rosh which doesn’t necessarily mean a Nation but could mean something else in Hebrew. The phrase: “I am against you” is NOT merely God’s displeasure…it is a formal, “Divine Opposition” …as God personally identifies Himself as Gog’s adversary, leaving NO doubt about where our Lord stands! The Lord God does NOT delegate this Judgment BUT He speaks in the first person. It clearly signals certain defeat of Gog …and the deliverance for His people – Israel! God’s opposition is personal, purposeful, and unstoppable when it comes to Israel!  As Believers we can also rest in the same Covenant and faithfulness displayed here as the Lord actively confronts EVERY power that threatens His Redemptive plan.

Now let’s look further at the NEXT group; Cush, Put and Paras (Hebrew name) …and we also have Gomer and Beth Togamah; Ezekiel 38:6; “Gomer, and ALL its troops; the house (Beth) of Togarmah from the far North with all its troops; many peoples (nations) are with you.” Here we are introduced to a significant Prophecy concerning multiple Nations that will come together during the Last Days against Israel. (This verse mentions Gomer and Togarmah, two regions often understood to symbolize Nations connected with the descendants of Noah).

So, now we see six of the nations; Gog, Megog, Meshek, Tubal, Gomer, Togamah (Asia Minor and that represents Turkey). Cush …represents Northeast Africa, Red Sea – today is called Sudan! Then we have Put …that is linked to the Libyans – Libya includes Yemen, Algeria and Tunis. And then we have Persia (Paras) today called Iran! In Ezekiel 38/39 we read that in the Last Days, ALL these Nations WILL become enemies of Israel! Turkey used to be a friend of Israel BUT with their Leader - Dictator Erdogan having become …radically Islamic and anti-Israel! Erdogan has a deep hatred for Israel and is one of the worse enemies seeking only the destruction of Israel …and so not only does he influence the Nations surrounding Israel …but openly supports terrorists. Sudan is also an Islamic Nation and enemy of Israel. Libya is also a hostile Muslim Nation and a long-time enemy of Israel since the time of Omar Kadaffi.

IRAN (Persia) is Israel’s greatest concern! Did you know that even some Arab states are concerned about Iran as it is a dangerous state? So, what are we saying here is that these Nations that will join Gog/Magog War against Israel are MUSLIM and radically Islamic …AND that the Prophet Ezekiel (lived during 597-570 BC - could NOT have known this thousands of years ago! There was NO Islam in Ezekiel’s time and so that pagan religion ONLY began in the 6-7^th Century AD after Yeshua (Jesus Christ).

Muhammad (lived; 570-632 AD) and was the so-called founder of the Muslim’ Quran and Arab religion and was a “military” and “political leader” and the founder of Islam! Now in these End-times it all makes sense that Islam is built on death just as it was founded on military with the aim of Infidels (that’s anyone not Muslim) “submission” or face the sword! That is why they are “colonists” and want to take over and rule the world just as their Quran instructs them to do so!  

You see, these powers were foretold from ancient times and are those that WILL launch a massive attack against Israel in the Last Days! We are living in these times and ALL “the Dots are connecting, like a 2,000-year puzzle it’s coming together “piece by PEACE!” There has been NO massive “ground invasion” against Israel in 50 years - since 1973 …until Hamas terrorists from Gaza (controlled and funded by Iran) invaded Israel on 7 October 2023 …and so could this be a pre-curser of what is coming?  Could there soon be another invasion like 2023 against Israel in the making …and the coming invasion by these prophesied powers?

You see Turkey (Togarmah) is NO friend of Israel …and was working with Put (Libya and Yemen) to attack Israel… and just as recently as November 2025 Erdogan issued a warrant of arrest for PM Bibi Netanyahu as well as 33 other Israelis! Iran (Persia) was the “shadow power” behind it ALL! Iran even has the South African ANC government as their “proxy” from thousands of kilometres (miles) away. And on 29 December 2023 …only just 2 months after the Hamas attack of murder and hostage taking in a brutal invasion on Israel the ANC government - through LAWFARE took Israel to the ICC/J Courts in the Hage accusing Israel for a so-called genocide while all Israel was doing was protecting their land and people from terrorists, murder and hostage taking. You see here is a perfect example of how Iran has its hands on Nations easily manipulated by corruption, power and greed! Without Iran (Persia) the attack on Israel on 07 October 2023 would NEVER have happened NOR the ICC/J Case!

Ezekiel warned us thousands of years ago that after God brings back His people (the Jews) to the land of promise – Israel (14 May 1948) then there will be “an alliance” of Nations that would come against Israel in the Last Days… Some believe that Russia may or may not be a part of this event? However, we see right now that Turkey and Iran are determined to lead the Islamic World …and are rallying anti-Israel Nations, Russia is included! And believe it or not …In Western Nations - Globalists Elites, Liberals Socialists and the woke generation etc., are also against Israel.

Now let’s change the Ancient Names as we see in the Scriptures of Ezekiel’s End-times Prophecy to read as follows; Turkey-backed (Gog) and groups in (Put) Libya smuggled arms to Hamas terrorists!”  Now try this one; “Israel repeatedly accused Iran (Persia – Paras) of transhipping weapons to Hamas via Sudan (Cush). Again; “Iran (Persia) and Hezbollah have smuggled weapons to Hamas overland through Sinai via Sudan (Cush) and Libya (Put)!” And another one… “Militias of Libya and Yemen (Put) funded by Iran (Persia) and Turkey (Togarmah) are helping armed Palestinian group Hamas circumvent Israel’s blockade!”

You see, when we change the ancient names to the modern-day nation you see what Ezekiel 38/39 is speaking about! For 2,500-Years this Prophecy was a mystery as these Nations were NOT at war altogether against Israel …until NOW. The Nations that are going to congregate against Israel are mostly distant from each other and so it would be most unlikely that they could even act together in previous years …until NOW! These Nations are unlike the Nations mentioned in Psalm 83 as they were surrounding Israel. You see in; Ezekiel 38/39 Iran uses PROXY Nation’s thousands of kilometres (miles) away from them and not near Israel to do their dirty work! So we can say “from a distance” – God Almighty is watching this too! 

Here’s the KEY “connecting the dots” …. The same Nations that Ezekiel said would invade Israel in the Last Days had a part in the 7 October 2023 invasion attack on Israel …and each of them have today become an enemy of the Jewish State of Israel. These Nations that hate Israel are also enemies of Christians, Churches …and anyone else associating themselves with Israel. This is NOT a fulfilment yet but a SIGN! Think on this again? The very same Nations foretold by Ezekiel had a part in the gruesome, brutal invasion and attack on Israel …and through their proxies have warred against Israel …and stunned the world with their cruelty! Just as the Gaza strip had their terror tunnels built for them so too, they planned the attack and have supplied Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists the rockets to kill Israelis! These “shadow powers” have been arming the terrorists for years. Every single Nation that funded the attack of 7 October were Nations Ezekiel identified! Ezekiel 38/39 Prophecy is yet to be fulfilled, and the timing is ALL in God’s Hands! We are only seeing partially BUT “the dots are connecting!” Time will surely tell!

With Russia back in the news in a big way and especially with the situation of Ukraine so many are wondering if recent events have anything to do with End-times Prophecy - and, if so, how? First let’s see again who GOG is? He is a person and whoever Gog is …he is from the land of Magog …and is the leader of Tubal and Meshek (some translations add “Rosh” to the list) …and as we have seen a “confederacy” of other Nations as mentioned; Persia, Cush, Put, Gomer, and Beth Togarmah (Ezekiel 38:5–6). And again, whoever he is …he WILL have plans to; “attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people (Israel)” - Ezekiel 38: 11, 14, and 18. But, regardless of Gog’s plans, the Lord God is against him and WILL defeat him soundly (Ezekiel 38:4, 19–23; 39:3–5).

Magog is a land “in the far north,” of Israel (Ezekiel 38:15; 39:2) … Most interpret “Magog” as Russia, because Russia is straight North of Israel, all the way up to the Arctic Circle. And “Rosh” is a reference to Russia, “Meshek” is either Moscow or the people north of the Black Sea (the area of Southern Russia and Ukraine) …and “Tubal,” which is always listed with “Meshek” in Scripture, is also identified as a City in Siberia …or an area in central Turkey as it also borders the Black Sea! There is NO doubt that the general area includes portions of Russia and the former Soviet Union …and today some Arab countries!

So, yes, the Bible does mention Russia in connection with the End times and definitely refers to a Nation coming from Northern Asia to attack Israel... After the Cold War, Russia lost its "superpower status" making the fulfilment of Ezekiel’s Prophecy seem unlikely in some people’s eyes. However, today in recent events have shown that Russia is gaining strength …and many believe that the invasion of Ukraine was just a first step in Russia’s plan to restore its dominance in that hemisphere. Interesting again is that; in the Soviet Era, Moscow was solidly "aligned" or "allied" with several Muslim countries in opposition to Israel. And, since the break-up of the Soviet Union, Russia has continued to "align" itself to the Muslim world.

Yes, these enemies WILL come together to invade the land of Israel with "an alignment" of mostly Islamic armies…BUT God Himself will defeat them! The Lord God NOT only sees who the enemies of His people are today …but foresees who will be so in the near future …AND He is against them! Though they join together, the wicked shall NOT go unpunished (Ezekiel 38:18; 21-22). So, according to Ezekiel’s Prophesy we read that there WILL definitely come a time when Russia is in "alliance" with Iran (and even China) …and several other countries that WILL amass a huge army against Israel, …with a view "to plunder" the land! Most of these "aligned Nations" are currently Militant Radical Islamic States that express a deep hatred for Israel.

Now take a look at who else is involved; "‘Thus says the Lord God: "On that day (Last Days) it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind and you will make an evil plan (Russia and aligned Islamic nations): You will say , ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell ^]safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates’ - to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land. Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions WILL SAY to you, ‘Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?’" - Ezekiel 38:10-13. This ALL points to our time as we see Nations aligning! Just as Prophesied! Now who is Sheba and Dedan today? It’s Saudi Arabia! Sheba and Dedan are associated with areas of Northern Africa. Who are Tarshish and it’s Merchants? The USA, Britain, Western Europe! Aren’t we seeing the "Abraham Accords Peace plan" coming together with, Saudi Arabia, USA with US President Trump, Israel and other Nations?

We must understand that Russia is continuing to build alliances with Middle Eastern nations… Sudan (Cush) and Iran (Persia) are strong allies. The Muslim Nations of Central Asia also are developing ties with Iran, Russia and Turkey. The hatred for Israel by Middle Eastern Muslim Nations continues to boil. Today, it is NOT too difficult to imagine these Nations mentioned in Ezekiel 38:1-7 coming together with the Russian leadership to mount an aggressive attack against Israel together with China as well. And so, who are the Nations that object to and oppose Russia in Ezekiel 38:10-13? The answer is Saudi Arabia - Ancient Sheba and Dedan!  It’s exactly the ones we would expect since they have aligned with present-day Political situation of the Western Powers described as TARSHISH and her young Lions (cubs) by Ezekiel. Tarshish could also be a reference to Spain (which Colonized much of South America), Britain (which Colonized the United States), or somewhere in Eastern Africa. The objections to Magog’s "aggression" will fall on deaf ears however and the invasion will continue. BUT there is also an Eastern Power named that also objects to the Russian Invasion upon Israel; SHEBA and DEDAN ancient names for the land we know today as Arabia, especially Saudi Arabia, showing that at least some of the Arab states will NOT favour Russia’s presence in the Middle East!

There is one Middle Eastern Nation that is "allied" with the West unlike the other Islamic Nations in the region (even though exports and funds the spread of extreme Wahhabi Islam world-wide)? Some may ask; ‘what is Wahhabi Islam?’ An Islamic reform movement founded by Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab in the 18th Century in Najd, Central Arabia, adopted in 1744 by the Saudi family in the 20th - 21st Centuries. Wahhabism is prevalent in, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. In general, the so-called Wahhabis do not like – or at least did not like the term and compare themselves to Sunni Islam. Wahhabis share the belief of Islamists such as the Muslim Brotherhood in Islamic dominion over politics and government and the importance of da'wah (proselytizing or preaching of Islam) to the non-believers (infidels) of Islam. The movement was associated with violence from the beginning….and has also been blamed for forming the root of (ISIS) Islamic State's ideology, which is why it has become such a headache for Western and Islamic leaders alike!.

Saudi Arabia’s (Sheba and Dedan) support for Israel and the "Abraham Accords" is primarily driven by "regional strategic concerns" and the pursuit of a "two-state-solution" for Palestine despite the ongoing tensions of Gaza and Hezbollah wanting to destroy Israel. You see, Saudi Arabia recognizes the economic benefits of closer ties with Israel particularly in technology and trade as part of the "vision 2030" initiative and so it is diplomatic provided a two-state-solution is created and prioritized! In 1947, Saudi Arabia was one of several Middle Eastern states that voted against in the UN Partition Plan for Palestine. Saudi troops were sent to fight against Israel in the 1948 and 1973 wars!

Did you know that the USA and NATO use bases in Saudi Arabia to monitor the ENTIRE Persian Gulf area. Again, we see the exact "alignment" of Nations predicted in Ezekiel 38, is in place today. The USA, Britain, Western Europe (Tarshish) and Saudi Arabia (Sheba and Dedan) are allied today …just as portrayed in the Prophecy! While Russia, Iran, Sudan, Libya and most of the other Nations of the Middle East …and Persian Gulf are "aligned" AGAINST the West once again …just as once again prophesied; "Have you assembled your hosts to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to seize great spoil?" – Ezekiel 38:13.

God promises to destroy Gog’s army: "I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulphur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him." - Ezekiel 38:22). The bodies of the fallen army of Magog will be buried, but it will take over seven months to complete the macabre task (Ezekiel 39:12,14). This "Supernatural Judgment" will have the effect of preserving Israel and turning many hearts to God: "And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord" (Ezekiel 38:23). Many will be saved during the tribulation (Revelation 7), and the fulfilment of Ezekiel 38/39 will be one means by which God will bring people to knowledge of Himself! There is much we do not know for certain about Ezekiel’s Prophecy, including the timing of these events BUT we are told to watch for the SIGN! However, it is clear that Russia WILL be involved and will in fact lead an End-times league of Nations "aligned" with Islamic Nations to seize Israel’s land. The Prophet Ezekiel comforts Israel in much the same way as Moses had centuries ago; "The Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory." - Deuteronomy 20:4.

Almost every single terrorist act that we read or hear about was done in the name of Allah… For 1400 years they have been all about world domination. They don’t want to share the world they want to own it and they are driven to do so with terror and force. They will not be satisfied until the entire world is bowing down to Allah. This will NEVER change. That is why Islamic Nations will be a force to reckon with as we edge further and further into the Last Days.

"Is ISLAM the Green Horse of Revelation?" Twice in the Bible, a significant prophecy is written concerning the four horsemen in; Zechariah 6:1 - 8 and in Revelation 6:1 - 8. The fourth horse, the Pale Horse, is actually introducing the WAREFARE inaugurating the Tribulation period. The Greek word for "pale" is "Chloris" …where we get our word "chlorophyll." In short, this is the Green Horse, and it introduces the "widespread death" that is associated with the Global conflict with the various sects of Islamic Militancy. The Scripture tells us: "And I looked, and behold, a pale horse, and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth." - Revelation 6:8. (Islam a the religion of the "sword, hunger and with death" - we have an example - 7 Oct 2023)

It is NOT coincidence that ALL the Islamic Flags have RED, BLACK, WHITE and GREEN and that many are similar! Islam has grown to the degree that fully "one fourth" of the world has been ensnared in this FALSE religious movement. Thus, this crucial Prophecy in Revelation 6 appears to be telling us that it is a 1/4 of the earth that is caught in the Islamic mind-set that is the instrument of the terrible destruction that to come! We sincerely believe that this Scripture is speaking of the Islamic Nations who WILL in the Last Days lead the final WAR against Israel!

ALL of these Prophecies developed more fully in Revelation are helping us to have a better understanding the Tribulation / "Time of Jacob's Trouble" as mentioned by Jeremiah and the coming of Yeshua (Jesus Christ) as the Messiah! You see, God has NOT abandoned the Jewish people, and neither should we! God kept His promises to bring Israel back to the land in the Last Days and in 1948, God’s End-time CLOCK began …and is today reaching "mid-night hour!" Though Israel will continue to experience difficulties now and, in the future, God promises He will ultimately restore His people …and offer a glorious PEACE during a time when He finally rules over His people! We the true Church will be there too! Maranatha Yeshua (Jesus).

We most sincerely believe that God WILL bless you for your faithfulness and love for His land and chosen people. God’s Word is true! He IS watching to see how the Nations are treating His people. God will have mercy on Israel through Gentile believers acting as mediators towards them. This is one of the most amazing revelations ever given to the Church – an opportunity to do something that carries the highest priority in the heart of God. Yet, sadly, so few have seen the potential and the rewards of serving God in this manner - as agents of mercy to Israel and the Jewish people! Israel was and still is despised today and a despised Nation continually turning away from God …BUT nothing ever altered the purpose of God for that Nation. The "despised element" is always a noticeable element in the purpose of God. When the Saviour of the world came, He came of that "despised Nation" (and just like Israel) He Himself was; "…despised and rejected by men." And there is that despised element; "…things that are despised God has chosen," - 1 Corinthians 1:28.
